Sulfites & Wine
Q
Is there sulfite free or low sulfite champagne? If so, could you give me a list of names?
There are wines that list themselves as low in sulfites. Regarding Champagne (real Champagne), I am not aware of any. I suggest you go to you wine shop and ask them. You maybe able to find some sparkling wines that are low in sulfites, but they would most likely be vintage bottles and maybe hard to find.

Q
why is sulfur put into wine?
Sulfur is not but sulfites are placed in wine as well as occurring naturally. Sulfites help preserve wine.

Q
Low sulfate white wine
Try organic wines as they are made with no additives and sulfites are often added to wines to preserve them.
