Aging Wine
Q
I have a bottle of 1983 Bollinger, is it bad? And should I sell it or drink it myself?
If the wine is a cab, it could be ok. Anything else and chances are the prime time to drink this wine was a decade ago. Try it with friends, at the least it will be something to talk about for good or for wine gone bad.

Q
i want to get a bottle of wine made the year my son was born (2008) and keep it till he is 18, can i do this with any wine? which will mature the best?
Generally French and California reds such as carbernet sauvignon are the big reds that tend to age the longest. There are of course other wine that will age, but these are most common and have a long track record for aging

Q
Does pinot noir keep a long time?
Pinot noir is one of my favorite wines, so good question. Aging any wine is dependent on the vintage, i.e., the year it was made and if the wine maker/vinyards believes the wine can age. I generally follow a rule of not more than 5 to 7 years to age Pinot Noir. I have aged some Pinot for ten years with no ill effects to the wine. Although Pinot Noir is not a classic wine for aging like some Bordeaux that can age twenty plus years. Keep in mind that most wine made today is meant to be drunk today, so please don't expect that any Pinot Noir you buy is age worthy.
